International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day designated by the United Nations to mark the anniversary of the January 27, 1945, liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp.

The Holocaust was facilitated by a culture of hate and an acceptance of violence. Unfortunately, this culture still persists today. Antisemitism — which is a certain perception of, or prejudice against, Jews that is often expressed as hatred towards Jews — manifests as religious, ethnic, national, and racial intolerance or prejudice.— “Never Again” did not mean that antisemitism went away. Now, more than ever, it is imperative to conceptualize the fight against antisemitism within a human rights framework. It is our responsibility, as the youth, regardless of our background, nationality, religion, or ethnicity, to join the fight against antisemitism. It is our responsibility to keep telling the stories of 6 million mothers, fathers, grandchildren, children, brothers and sisters who were all murdered systematically by Nazi Germany and its collaborators and bystanders who chose to stay silent in the Holocaust.

Holocaust Remembrance and Preventing Anti-Semitism Panel is a 3-Day Event that is organized by student volunteers and interns of DoNotHate Foundation, co-sponsored by the Center for Jewish Studies at University of California, Irvine, Jewish Collaborative of Orange County and Anti-Defamation League, with a mission to educate the youth regarding the history and stages of the Holocaust, and the dangers of post-Holocaust antisemitism in its contemporary forms.

DoNotHate Foundation, by this panel, aims to bring youth from different backgrounds together, to inform them about the Holocaust and invite them to embracing the mission of working together to end antisemitism for good.
