MEANING OF LIFE LUNCH: HUMOR AND IRONY - SPRING 2021
What is irony? And how is it different or similar to humor? How does either sentiment contribute to our knowledge or experience in the world? What makes humor meaningful across cultures? Must societies share a common sense of history for humor or irony to function? This quarter, we’ll think loosely about humor and irony as they shape our worlds, perceptions, community, and confrontation with sorrow, anger, injustice, and delight.
