Any small change starts at home.

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is now bigger than the state of Texas and is growing rapidly. Scientists predict that in 30 years, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean.

What can we do to help?

Bea Johnson, the pioneer of the zero waste lifestyle movement and the author of Zero Waste Home, has been spreading her 5Rs: refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot (in order) for the past 11 years. She is now embarking a yearlong journey throughout North America, hoping to shatter misconceptions associated with waste-free living, change mentalities, and grow the movement bigger at home. She is a living proof that by reducing waste, we can enjoy living, have more time with our families, and hopefully, save the planet for our children and generations to come.
