As part of our annual Applied and Social Epistemology Lecture Series, this fall Ernie Sosa (Rutgers) will be giving three online seminars devoted to his forthcoming book,

Friday October 16th, 3-5pm (Colloquium)

The subject of the three lectures will be chapters from Sosa’s forthcoming Oxford UP book, 'Epistemic Explanations: A Theory of Telic Normativity, and What it Explains’. The colloquium presentation will be a regular talk (devoted to chapter 2 of the book, 'Gnoseology and Intellectual Ethics'), but the other two sessions will be a pre-read (devoted to chapters 7 & 8, 'Knowledge, Default, and Skepticism’ & 'Grades of Knowledge’, and chapter 9, 'Reflection and Security’). Professor Sosa has kindly made a draft of his book manuscript available to us *for this specific purpose only* (i.e., not for wider sharing), and this is attached below.
