ABOUT OUR FACILITY

Located on the ground floor of the Humanities Instructional Building, access to the Visual Resources Collection and Visual Study Lab is via room 61. The 2,350 square foot facility includes space to house the photographic and film archives, image study areas with light tables, a lab area with computers and scanners for research and technical processing, a photo room with copy stand, and staff offices.

The slides are organized through a customized use of the Harvard-Fogg classification system. Re:discovery software (http://www.rediscoverysoftware.com/) is the database used to catalog the image collections and serve them online to the campus. VRC images are shared with the UC system via an institutional collection in ARTstor (http://www.artstor.org/index.shtml)
