ABOUT THE VRC

The Visual Resources Collection is a growing archive of shared analog and digital images for teaching, learning, and research at the University of California, Irvine, primarily in the Arts and Humanities. In addition to providing a comprehensive collection of world art and architecture (pre-historic to present), information professionals offer a variety of support services:

  • Finding and Preserving Images
  • Building Shared Image Collections
  • Using Image Technology
  • Consulting on Image, Metadata, and Technical Issues
  • One-On-One Training, Group Orientations, and Workshops

In addition to the image collection, films, reference works, computers and scanners for research and digitization are made available to faculty and students.

The VRC is located in room 61 in the Humanities Instructional Building. It is open on Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM (closed weekends and holidays).
