Add/Drop Policy

No student, regardless of major, may drop a course after the end of the second week of classes except under exceptional circumstances.  Beginning Fall 2014, Adds are not permitted after Week 2. This University policy should be included on all syllabi. Petitions for exceptions are available on Student Access. 

Instructors may require attendance during the first X sessions of class, and if a student does not meet that requirement, the instructor may direct the student to drop the class. Be sure to explain to the affected students that they will not be automatically dropped.
