Add/Drop Policy
No student, regardless of major, may add or drop a course offered by the School of Humanities after the end of the second week of classes except under exceptional circumstances. This School policy should be included on all syllabi. Petitions for post-second week drops (in extenuating circumstances) are available on our website and in HIB 143. The student takes the petition first to the instructor for approval, and then to the Office of Undergraduate Study.
Instructors may require attendance during the first X sessions of class, and if a student does not meet that requirement, the instructor may direct the student to drop the class. Be sure to explain to the affected students that they will not be automatically dropped.
