Add Drop Policy

You are subject to the add and drop deadlines set by the instructor of the class as well as the academic unit in which the course is offered. Deadlines can differ in each of your courses, so make sure you understand them.

You are also subject to the deadlines of the School in which you are a major or to which you have been assigned (in the case of unaffiliated sophomores).

School of Humanities Add/Drop Policy

• Any student may add or drop a Humanities course through the end of the second week of classes. An exception may only be requested for extenuating circumstances outside the student's control, by submitting a Petition to Add/Drop After the 2nd Week to the instructor and to Humanities Undergraduate Study (HIB 143).

• Humanities majors may, with an instructor's signature, add or drop a non-Humanities course through the end of the sixth week of classes, subject to any deadlines imposed by the School/Program where the course is offered.

  • There is a $3 fee for all transactions made after the 3rd week of classes.

Weeks 7-10

  • YOU – not faculty or staff – must initiate all adds/drops/changes to your class schedule, transcript, etc.  You will NOT be automatically dropped from a class for failure to attend.
  • It is your responsibility to check the prerequisites for a course and to make sure you are taking an appropriate class.
