Requirements for the Major

Requirements for the Bachelor's Degree:

2. School Requirements

3. Departmental Requirements

A.   Philosophy 1, or 4, or 5.
B.   Philosophy 30 or 104.
C.   Two courses from Philosophy 10, 11, 12, 13.
D.   Philosophy 101, 102, 103.
E.   Five additional quarter courses from Philosophy 100, 105-199. Students planning to go on to graduate school are strongly advised to take Philosophy 105A and 105B.

Residence Requirement: At least five upper-division courses required for the major must be completed successfully at UCI

Note: Continuing Philosophy majors may meet either the previous requirements for the Philosophy major or the new requirements in full. If you choose to meet the new requirements, please inform your academic counselors in the Humanities Undergraduate Study Office so that your Degree Augit will reflect the revised requirements. You may schedule an appointment, visit during walk-in hours, or submit an e-mail through the webiste.
