Megan C. Braun

Megan C. Braun ('10), UCI’s first Rhodes Scholar graduated with a minor in philosophy. She is among 32 Americans and 80 students internationally to be named 2011 Rhodes scholars. Braun also garnered the UCI Alumni Association’s 2010 Lauds & Laurels award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student, and the 2010 Living Our Values Award.

Joanne Buenaventura

Philosophy major Joanne Buenaventura (‘11) was named a Young Ambassador for the German Academic Exchange Service (2010).

Jessica Drummer

Philosophy minor Jessica Dummer (‘09) won the Dan Aldrich Award (2007-08).

Claudia (Roma) Hernandez

Philosophy major Claudia (Roma) Hernandez (‘07) received a pre-doctoral summer research fellowship from UCI’s Graduate Division (2010) and a Fulbright Fellowship to study at the University of Cologne (2010-11).

Francis Larson

Baseball star Francis Larson (‘10), the 2010 UCI Scholar-Athlete of the Year graduated with a Bachelor in philosophy. He went on to get a Master’s in philosophy of social sciences at the London School of Economics and is now playing in the Angel’s minor league system.

Caitlin McEvoy

Philosophy major Caitlin McEvoy (‘10) received the Swedish Women’s Education Association International Fellowship (2010).

Long-Co Nguyen

Long-Co Nguyen (‘10), a philosophy major, was named an alternate for a Fulbright Fellowship (2011).

Brandon Rickabaugh

Philosophy major Brandon Rickabaugh ('10) is currently completing a terminal MA in Philosophy at Biola University and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Philosophy.
