Noureddin Zarrinkelk Artist and Scholar in Residence  
Jane Lewisohn is the newest scholar in residence at The Samuel Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture at University of California, Irvine for the 2017-2018 academic year. She is a graduate of Pahlavi University, Shiraz, Iran. She has been involved in the research and promotion of various aspects of Persian culture and Studies for the last four decades. Since 2005 she has directed the Golha Project under the auspices of the British Library, London, and the Music Department of SOAS, University of London. The Golha Project (http://www.golha.co.uk) is an encyclopedic website for Persian music and literature based on the Golha Radio Programs broadcast in Iran from 1956 through 1979. She is currently director of the Golistan Project working in collaboration with the Samuel Jordan Center of Persian Studies at the University of California, Irvine to create a world resource for Persian Performing Arts of the twentieth century, music, film, theater, and printed matter. Ph.D: Ph.D. Claremont Graduate University
Dr. Arya Moknat holds a Ph.D. in political science and philosophy from Claremont Graduate University. He specializes in political philosophy and has written his dissertation on the political thought of Friedrich Nietzsche and David Hume. He is currently researching the philosophical interaction between ancient Greece and Persia and will be giving lectures on the Zoroastrian themes in ancient Greek philosophy, as well as lecturing on Iranian political thought.
Ph.D: University of California, Berkeley
Dr. Omidsalar obtained his PhD in Persian Literature and Folklore from the Department of Near Eastern Studies, University of California, Berkeley. He is the consulting editor for folklore for the Encyclopaedia Iranica and has written many of the entries on the subject. Together with late Iraj Afshar, he is the editor of the series Folia Medica Iranica and Persian Manuscripts in Facsimile. His books include The Shahnameh of Ferdowsi, co-edited with Dr. Djalal Khaleghi-Motlagh, vol. 6, Bibliotheca Persica, 2005 and Poetics and Politics of Iran’s National Epic, the Sh?hn?meh, Palgrave Macmillan; 2011. He is currently working on a new edition of the Garshasb-n?meh, an important Persian epic.
Noureddin Zarrinkelk is a renowned Iranian animator, concept artist, editor, graphic designer, illustrator, layout artist, photographer, script writer and sculptor. He studied pharmacy at Tehran University and holds a PharmD. He is the  Cheryll and Richard Ruszat Scholar in Iranian Art and Cinema for 2015 and 2016.
