UCI Center for Persian Studies and Cultures Alborz Alumni Challenge

JOIN US IN CELEBRATING the OPENING of ALBORZ AUDITORIUM at UCI in FALL ‘09

The University of California, Irvine is fortunate to enjoy the ongoing support of its caring alumni, and community members who appreciate the significance of the Samuel Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture, in the heart of Orange County and southern California.   We now have an historic opportunity to support this Center and UCI’s continued excellence in education.  Please join us in the campaign to name “Alborz Auditorium” and our final push to conclude it by month’s end!

This very exciting campaign to establish the "Alborz Auditorium" is nearly complete, and we felt you would want to be a part of bringing it to fruition.  Inspired by the legacy of Alborz High School as a model of modern education in Iran, the Alborz Auditorium will be housed adjacent to the Samuel Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture in the new state-of-the-art Humanities Gateway building, to be opened in September 2009.

Campaign Success—we are so close to our goal!  At a modest cost of $150,000 to name the auditorium, donations to the Alborz Auditorium will support scholarships and fellowships for students with interests in Persian Studies as well as programs and operations of the Samuel Jordan Center. We have only $20,000 left to raise in the next few weeks- we have already raised $130,000 in less than 2 months.

Donor Names Permanently Displayed on Alborz Auditorium Walls in Prominent UCI Location. This campaign was designed to give donors generous opportunities to have their names or designees permanently displayed on a wall in one the newest and most prominent spaces on the UCI Campus.

Alborz Auditorium will be in close proximity to the offices and faculty of the Samuel Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture and will be the host site of many Persian Studies programs and conferences into perpetuity.  Plaque levels are achieved at the $5,000 and $1,000 levels—an exceedingly fair investment for your family name!  Small donations are encouraged too and will be given recognition as well.  Click here to see who some of the 100-plus donors are.

Alborz High School Alumni Generosity Yields High Level of Contributions.
We want to give special recognition to the alumni of Alborz High School who have so generously stepped forward to kick-off this campaign and bring it well over the $100,000 level.    More than 100 Alborzis have contributed to this special UCI/Persian Studies opportunity from the East and West coasts of the US and including Canada—at levels ranging from $50 to $5,000.

The Alborz Auditorium Momentum Continues.  Please join us as a friend of UCI and the cause of Persian Studies and Culture and make your donation today before the June 30th deadline!
