Her goal is to run an international public health beat and generate a greater awareness of the disparities in medical, sanitation, and water by writing for a nonprofit organization geared toward addressing these issues. Future plans: Reporter or contributor to The Nature Conservancy or National Geographic after I gain a few years of experience in the field. And maybe I will start with grad school! Recommended reading for everyone and why: Random Family by Adrian Nicole LeBlanc, because it details the plight of the Puerto Rican community in the Bronx, offering compelling portraits of several families shaped by inner-city poverty in the late 80s and 90s. Raw, impactful, and innovative.
