Patricia Pierson is the assistant director of the Literary Journalism program at the University of California, Irvine. Her article, "The Amethyst Seal: Anatomy and Identity in Jeremy Bentham and Bodyworlds," is forthcoming in a collection from McFarland Press called The Anatomy of Bodyworlds. Her research interests include psychoanalysis, the contemporary novel, and nonfiction life writing, including memoir and autobiography.
