In the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Bogaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, Dilek Dizdar teaches courses on translation theory and writing. In addition, Dizdar is a lecturer in the Department of General Linguistics and Cultural Studies of the faculty at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Dizdar's experience extends outside the university setting to the realms of professional and technical translation and her publications and projects reflect both the theoretical questions and the practice of translation. Finally, Dizdar has been involved in many projects related to language and Turkish; as project co-leader with ebnem Bahadr she has directed Pilot Project Turkish for Native Speakers and has also taught German language courses for Turkish workers and Turkish migrant women.
