1998-1999
| HumaniTech's First Year
HumaniTech
was launched in 1998 as a part-time program called
“New Classroom Technologies." Our original
focus was to get Humanities scholars on-board with technology.
The program was renamed HumaniTech in 1999 to reflect new
goals, and eventually refocused and expanded to a full-time
program in 1999. In 2005, HumaniTech became a registered
trademark.
Today, HumaniTech continues to keep Humanities faculty and
staff up-to-date on constantly emerging technologies. We
hold lectures, conferences, teaching colloquia, and workshops
in an effort to build bridges among disciplines and constituencies
across campus. We focus on collaboration among disciplines
where information technology is essential. These collaborations
often result in a
forum in which ideas are exchanged and new concepts take
shape.
