Welcome to HOT!
Since 1997 Humanities Out There (HOT) has helped students gain the tools they need to
reach their American dreams. HOT draws together public school teachers, graduate
students, and undergraduate tutors in a shared enterprise of bringing innovative
scholarship in the form of age appropriate curricula that enhance the critical thinking and
writing skills of Orange County high school students. As teachers and mentors, UCI
students bring a university education to public school classrooms.
HOT is a collaborative enterprise between UCI’s School of Humanities and Orange
County schools with support from UCI’s Center for Educational Partnerships in
collaboration with UCI’s California History-Social Science Project.
