Internal Fellowships and Grants for History Graduate Students

Schaeffer Fellowship Program in Creative Non-Fiction
The Schaeffer Fellowships in Creative Non-Fiction are designed to support exceptionally talented students interested in pursuing professional writing within the rigorous context of a Ph.D. program at the University of California, Irvine. UCI Summer International Travel Grants offer support to UCI Humanities graduate students pursuing research and creative writing projects that require international travel. Grants are offered each spring quarter by open and competitive call.

Teaching and Research Assistantships
Teaching Asssitantships, Readers and Research Assistantships represent a second major source of funding available only to graduate students. Typically, these assistantships support UCI faculty with their undergraduate teaching and principal research responsibilities in return for compensation. At UCI, the most commonly paid assistantship positions are: Teaching Assistant (aka TA), Reader, and Graduate Student Researcher (aka GSR or GSAR). For more information click here.
