Professor Alex Borucki receives two fellowships

Professor Alex Borucki has received the NEH John Carter Brown Fellowship to conduct research in the John Carter Brown Library (Brown University) for his second English-language book project: "Slaves, Silver, and Atlantic Empires:
The Slave Trade to Spanish South America, 1660-1810." Professor Borucki will be in residence in Providence, Rhode Island, for 8 months in 2016-17.

He has also received a fellowship where he will serve as the co-PI for the ""Final Passages: the Intra-American Slave Trade Database," project, which just received a major grant from the NEH Preservation and Access Division. He will be working on the project beginning in summer of 2017.
