Join the History Department, Humanities Commons and the Long US-China Institute on October 3rd for an evening with renowned journalist and author Lenora Chu.

3:30pm-4:30pm: Lenora Chu will discuss her new book Little Soldiers: An Amerian Boy, a Chinese School and the Global Race to Achieve with UCI History Professor & Associate Dean Yong Chen. Little Soldiers has already been lauded by the New York Times as a "perceptive" work that "vividly sketches differences between the education structures of China and the United States." The talk will be followed by a book signing.

5:00pm-6:30pm: Lenora Chu will be joined via Skype by NPR's Rob Schmitz to have a conversation on the latest developments across the Pacific in China. This discussion will be moderated by UCI History Professor & freelance journalist Jeffrey Wasserstrom.

Each event is free and open to the public and will be held at UC Irvine in Humanities Gateway 1030.
