These test dates are set in conjunction with the Office of Graduate Studies and the Task Force on English Language Proficiency. Scores are reported approximately 2 weeks after the test date. The test is offered 3 weeks prior to the start of Fall classes so that scores may be received in time for Fall TA appointments. Tests in the 4th week of Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters enable TA appointments in the following quarter for those who pass.

If you need to fulfill the English language proficiency requirement at a time when the SPEAK test is not offered, check the schedule for the TOEFL iBT and/or the TOEP (if you qualify to take the TOEP). It is also possible to schedule an individual SPEAK test, but a student still may not take the test more than one time per academic quarter. Contact Judi Franz for details.
