AV Equipment Policies
All equipment must be picked up from and returned to HH269.
Please return equipment promptly after class, as another instructor
may be waiting to pick it up. You are responsible for the
equipment while it is checked out to you - please do not leave
it unattended, and exercise caution while transporting it to
and from your classroom. If you experience difficulty operating
the equipment, please contact the HIRC at 824-6344 for assistance.
Most av equipment, including carts (which contain VCR/Video Projector and optional laptop,
LaserDisc player and/or DVD player) and laptops, can ONLY be used anywhere within
the Humanities Quad (HIB, HH, MKH, HICF). Slide projectors, overhead projectors, cameras and tripods can be taken anywhere on campus.
We require that all requests be submitted online (fill out the request form on
our website). HIRC staff will
confirm your request within 24 hours. All requests should be received
no less than two working days in advance of the needed date. We
can guarantee neither the priority nor the processing of requests
which are not submitted within these guidelines. Training on the
use of all Humanities AV Equipment is available upon request. We
strongly advise you to ask for assistance the first time you use
our equipment, and to let us know in advance how you plan to use
it, when possible. At minimum, a brief overview of procedures and
potential troubleshooting tips can be given if you arrive just
5 minutes earlier than necessary to transport the equipment to
your class.
We welcome your input: if you have any suggestions regarding our
services, please feel free to submit them.
