Event Details

Paola Caridi is a Roman-born journalist and writer. Caridi is a founding member of the news agency "Lettera22". She has written for national and local Italian newspapers and has a PhD in History of International Relations with a specialty in Middle Eastern & Northern African regions.

At this event, which is sponsored by the Forum for the Academy and the Public and will be moderated by Jeffrey Wasserstrom, the focus will be Paola Caridi's new book, Jerusalem without God: Portrait of a Cruel City, which was just published by the American University in Cairo Press and draws on the Italian journalist's long experience reporting on and living in the Middle East. UCI Historian Mark LeVine, who has written extensively on Jerusalem, will also join us to comment on and help place the book into historical perspective.
