Dance Visions 2008 is the major dance production of the year for the
Claire Trevor School of the Arts. Premiers of seven original works
highlight the eclectic versatility of all the dance genres -- from
classical and neoclassical ballet to abstract dance (that is, without
stories), dance with spoken words (contextual dance), contemporary
dance and hip-hop.

Student dancers perform to choreography by the schools distinguished
faculty and international guest artists --David Allan, Jodie Gates,
Loretta Livingston, Donald McKayle, Lisa Naugle, Molly Lynch, Rennie
Harris and Dr. Sam-Jin Kim.

Live music on electric violin, violin, guitar and keyboards, is
performed by guest musicians and Dance Department Chair Alan
Terricciano and Professors Haroutune Bedelian and Norman Beede.

Dance Visions 2008 is dedicated to William Gillespie, whose ballet
scholarship program since 1998 has supported more than 50 UCI dance
majors. David Allans work, Homage, is created in his honor.
