2008-2009 Dan and Jean Aldrich Scholarship: Benjamin Bohr
Benjamin Bohr

Benjamin is a third year double major in Political Science and Global Cultures, with a minor in Conflict Resolution. Within Global Cultures, his primary emphasis is Locating Europe with a secondary focus on Inter-area studies. He is a Regents Scholar, and member of the Campuswide Honors Program and the UCI United Model Nations. His plan after graduation is to pursue a doctorate in international affairs. 2008 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Education: Tracy Wu
Tracy Wu

Tracy is a fourth year double major in Spanish and Global Cultures (primary emphasis, Hispanic/Latino Studies; secondary emphasis, Pacific Rim). After graduation, she plans to attend nursing school where she feels her humanities background will serve her well. Her dream is to "travel the world through" and continue work and research. Dean's Undergraduate Award in Global Cultures, 2007-08: Sobia Saleem
Sobia Saleem

Sobia is a fifth-year double major in English and Global Cultures. Her interest in culture theory, post-colonial literature, and diverse and attention-grabbing voices on campus led her to launch The UCI FOB, an alternative media publication that seeks to provide an open-forum for discourses of all sorts. She is involved in UROP, Tau Sigma, Al-Kalima, and other on-campus organizations. Her long-term plan includes pursuing a Ph.D., with the hope of becoming a professor.
