Superstar in a House Dress

Alexis Del Lago was one of the super stars of the Andy Warhol circle, along with Jackie Curtis, Cindy Darling, and others. With the recent release of the film Factory Girl (Hickenlooper, 2006), the FVC presents Superstar in a Housedress, a documentary that deals with some of the same material and characters with one of the key players live and in person. Alexis will be introducing the film, talking about her fabulous life and performing a Q&A after the movie. For more information on Alexis visit:

Superstar in a Housedress examines the life and legend of Warhol transvestite superstar Jackie Curtis, a poet, playwright, performer, and one of the great personalities of his time. The film includes interviews with 30 people who knew and worked with Curtis, including Alexis Del Lago, Penny Arcade, Joe Dallesandro, Harvey Fierstein, Joe Franklin, Taylor Mead, Paul Morrissey, Sylvia Miles, Jack Mitchell, Michael Musto, Ellen Stewart, Lily Tomlin, John Vaccaro and Holly Woodlawn. In addition, media personalities, writers and literary editors put the work and life of Jackie Curtis in historical perspective. The film won Best Documentary at the Toronto Inside Out Film Festival.
