The jury for the Bavarian state book awards has selected Ruth Kluger, Professor Emerita of German, to receive one of three prizes awarded each year. One is for scholarship/non-fiction, another for imaginative literature, and the third is an honor given to a writer of either or both for his or her life work. Professor Kluger will receive the life's work award which will be presented at the Residenz in Munich on December 1, 2016.
