Kierstin just won a competitive award to participate in a four-week program in Leipzig this summer, called MINT – Fortbildungskurs mit Schwerpunkt Forschung und Lehre in den Unterrichtsfächern Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik. The program is a collaboration of the AATG and the Herder Institut at the University of Leipzig and is co-funded by the Transatlantik-Programm der Bundesrepublik Deutschland through funds of the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie. As part of the program Kierstin will be able to expand her skills and knowledge as a collegiate German language teacher, develop new, original curricular materials in this exciting and increasingly important area of the German/DaF curriculum, and of course, meet and work with many new colleagues from around the U.S. and Germany.
