Vietnamese 1A-B-C: Fundamental Vietnamese
This year-long introductory course uses a natural approach with emphasis on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The classes are conducted in Vietnamese. Vietnamese 1A-B-C and Vietnamese S1AB-BC may not both be taken for credit.
Vietnamese S1AB-BC: Fundamentals of Vietnamese, Summer
This is an intensive summer program that covers the same material as Vietnamese 1A-B-C during the regular academic year.
Vietnamese 2A-B-C: Intermediate
Vietnamese
The second-year course stresses conversation, reading and
composition. The classes are conducted in Vietnamese.
Vietnamese 3A-B-C: Advanced Vietnamese
The third-year course focuses on developing advanced reading,
writing, and translation skills. Prerequisites: Vietnamese
2C or equivalent; consent of instructor.
Vietnamese 115:
Advanced Texts
This reading course is for sdtudents with near-fluency in
reading Vietnamese. Readings may include both literary and
more broadly culturally significant works by important writers,
but emphasis is literay texts and writings that interpret
those texts. Prerequisites: Vietnamese 3C or consent of instructor.
May be taken for credit three times as topics vary.
