Where and When?

Friday, 3/14: Listening at Mac Lab in HH269A (No speaking exam) Please be on-time.

Thursday, 3/20, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Reading, Grammar, Kanji & Writing at HG 1800

Listening (50 pts) Please be on-time.

Part I (30 points): You will listen to ten short conversations twice and write the answers in English.
Part II (10 points): You will listen to a dialogue between a clerk and customer at a post office in Japan twice and write the answers in English.
PartIII (10 points): You will listen to a speech by a representative from Shiraiwa Island
three times and write the answers in English.

Kanji (20 pts)

You will be asked to both read and write kanji that we have learned in Yookoso vol. 2 Chapter 6 and 7. In addition, you will be asked to choose the appropriate meanings for the given kanji terms.

Reading 10x 0.5=5 /meaning 10x 0.5=5
Writing 10x 1= 10

Reading + Grammar (60 points)

The format is very similar to that of the Midterm.

Part I:
A Journal on the topic of cell-phone use

Part II: A passage on the topic of nature and environment.

Writing (OPEN BOOK) (40 pts)

You will be asked to write an essay on a topic of 1) life, 2) media and news, or 3) natural resources and/or pollution. The length should be 3-5 organized paragraphs, which should also include your own opinions and ideas.

You may use the following as references:
Yookoso Vol. 1& 2
No dictionaries, notebook or papers are allowed.
