Bliss Lim teaches courses on Third World and Postcolonial Studies, Asian
national cinemas (Philippines, Hong Kong, and India), temporality, and film
genres (camp/cult/trash, horror, and documentary). She is currently working
on a book project on fantastic cinema and modern time consciousness, tentatively
entitled “Fantastic Cinema: Nonsynchronism and Historical Difference”.
She envisions a next research project on taste cultures, with particular
emphasis on marketplace orientalism, gendered/sexed consumption, and queer
communities.
