Where is the CTI?
The CTI is located in 433 Krieger Hall at the University of California, Irvine
Campus. Directions to Krieger Hall are available at UCI's campus
map.
Who are the CTI members?
The CTI consists of a collaborative research group of an average of 15 to
20 active UCI faculty from a variety of disciplines in the Humanities and
Social Sciences. Please see our current members
page and individual member profiles for more information.
How do members join the CTI?
The CTI membership periodically reviews new faculty working in critical theory
at UCI and selects new members on the basis of publication records as well
as diversity of fields and disciplines.
Does the CTI offer any classes?
What is CTIs relation to the Critical Theory Emphasis program?
The CTI operates as a non-curricular, collaborative research institute. However,
it works closely with the Critical
Theory Emphasis Program, which offers various seminars as well as year-long
workshops on Critical Theory topics; various members of the CTI serve or have
served on the CTE core committee, many have taught advanced courses in Critical
Theory in the Emphasis, or directed the annual Emphasis-workshop. Further

What is the Critical Theory Archive? Where is the Critical Theory Archive?
The UCI Critical Theory Archive is housed in Special Collections in the UCI
Main Library . The Archive includes collections of manuscripts and other personal
papers of prominent theorists including CTI members Jacques Derrida, Wolfgang
Iser, and J. Hillis Miller, as well as Paul de Man, Stanley Fish, Ihab Hassan,
Murray Krieger, René Wellek, among others.Further information is available
