Are there opportunities for Visiting Scholars at the CTI?
The CTI typically houses three or four research fellows per academic year
for periods of one or more academic quarters (of approximately 3 months each).
Who are CTI's Research Fellows?
Visiting scholars, primarily post-docs and professors, have joined us from
their home institutes in Germany, Spain, Korea, Japan, Senegal, and Turkey,
and China, among others. Our Research Fellows
page lists previous and current scholars.
How are Research Fellows supported?
The CTI regrettably is unable to provide financial support for its fellows
at this time. Our Research Fellows typically rely on funding from their home
institutions or external funding agencies such as Fulbright and DAAD.
How do I apply to become a CTI Research Fellow?
For more information on applications and requirements, please write to the
address provided on our home page or contact our
office manager, lness@uci.edu (949-824-5583).
Research fellows typically will need to obtain a J-visa as well as provide
proof of adequate financial support and medical insurance for themselves and
any dependents.
Additional information for visiting researchers is available from the UCI
International
Center.
