Research Development - Fellowship Proposal Tips

SSRC (Social Science Research Council), despite their name, also funds humanistic research. They have published a good document on proposal writing: http://www.ssrc.org/fellowships/art_of_writing_proposals.page

This document from Harvard is targeted to graduate students, but the section on dissertation fellowship proposals is quite good for faculty as well.  It's a huge .pdf document, but the relevant pages are 45-49 on your screen (36-40 hard copy): http://www.gsas.harvard.edu/pdfs/scholarly_pursuits.pdf
