"Sustainable Subjects: Capitalist Energetics and the Problem of Material Exhaustion"

 Center for Culture and Capital     Apr 26 2017 | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM HIB 341

Please join the Culture, Law, and Capital Center @ UCI on Wednesday, April 26th from 6:30-8:30 PM in HIB 341 for a "work in progress" roundtable discussion. Our "work in progress" discussions are a forum for CLCC members to share individual articles/essays/chapters in the final stages of preparation for publication in order to solicit feedback from colleagues. Emphasizing the collective nature of intellectual labor, these discussions are designed to foster a climate of well-intentioned critique and commentary. These discussions are intended to be less like traditional lectures or paper presentations, and more like roundtable discussions in which all the attendees have read the work in progress and any included supplemental material. Please come to the discussion having read James Goebel's essay.

This session will feature an essay that James Goebel (Comparative Literature) is preparing for publication titled: "Sustainable Subjects: Capitalist Energetics and the Problem of Material Exhaustion."
