Alan G. Thomas is Editorial Director, Humanities and Social Sciences, for the University of Chicago Press. He will address current trends in academic publishing, with a focus on how to think about publishing your first book. He will also be available for individual consultations, by appointment only. Alan G. Thomas acquires trade and scholarly books in literature, literary studies, religious studies, digital humanities, and related fields. Over three decades at Chicago, books he has edited have won the National Book Critic's Circle Award, the Los Angeles Times Book Award, the MLA's James Russell Lowell Prize, the American Academy of Religion's award for excellence, the Phi Beta Kappa Christian Gauss Award, and other distinctions.
