UC Irvine's Jordan Center for Persian Studies is proud to announce the first annual Semnani Family Lectures in Memory of Dr. Richard Frye.

Please join us for a lecture titled "On the Margins of Greater Iran: Richard Frye and the History of the Tajiks" as well as a book signing by Dr. Richard Foltz.

Richard Foltz (Ph.D., Harvard) is professor of religion and founding director of the Centre for Iranian Studies at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada. Foltz's work has covered the full range of Iranian history and civilization, from pre-historic times up to the present day and on topics ranging from Animal Rights to Zoroastrianism. His most recent books are Iran in World History (Oxford University Press, 2015) and Religions of Iran: From Prehistory to the Present (Oneworld Publications, 2013).

This event is presented by Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Semnani Family Foundation.

The lecture and book signing is followed by a reception. This event is free and open to the public.
