The Culture and Life Revealed in Korean TV Dramas


Korean TV dramas have special meaning for Korean People. Some are fiction but others are based on real life stories. Both represent the lives they want to live…or want to avoid.

Producer and director Hae Ryong Jung has been working for the Korean Broadcasting System for 15 years. He has made more than 150 episodes of TV series such as School Season 4, Wedding, Invisible Man Choi Jang-Su, and The Heydays of Daughters-in-law. He was a senior producer of You Are My Destiny and The World They Live. He taught TV drama writing at the Korean TV & Radio Writers Association Academy. Currently, he is doing research on the producer’s role in story development at UCLA. He is also working on a project for a new crime series.
